At Sherwood, we’re always looking for ways to better support our students—and we’re thrilled to share something new we’ve been quietly working on: beginning Monday, we’ll be offering a Morning Snack option for our learners.
As we move into the colder months, we know how important it is for students to feel nourished, regulated, and ready to start their day. This pilot program will run through the end of November as we explore how to best support morning routines for our school community.
To kick things off, our Transitions class student ambassador, Martez, joined staff members Shannon and Tyler for a special Costco run to stock up on everything we need. Their teamwork helped launch the initiative and ensure we’re starting strong.
The snacks will be available to students each morning, with a rotating menu of simple, familiar favorites served family-style in the cafeteria to begin. We may explore classroom deliveries later in the pilot.
We kindly ask staff and students to take only what’s needed each morning so that we can continue to provide for everyone consistently. This resource is intended specifically for students, and we appreciate everyone’s help in stewarding it with care.
